At Tradeblock, we take authentication very seriously. The authentication process consists of two key steps:
- Quality Control - Our team inspects the shoes for any flaws, factory defects, or issues that were not listed in the trade. Even if defects are noted, there are certain conditions (e.g., mold, mildew) that may still cause the shoes to fail authentication.
- Authentication - We ensure that the shoes you’ve sent are 100% authentic. Our two-way authentication system is trusted by hundreds of thousands of sneaker enthusiasts to confirm the legitimacy of the shoes they are acquiring.
What happens if your shoes fail authentication?
- Fees and Account Impact - If your shoes fail the authentication process, any associated fees will not be refunded, as outlined in our dispute policy. In such cases, we may remove your listings, cancel transactions, and temporarily or permanently suspend your account if illegitimate shoes are sent.
- Seller Consequences - If you’re a seller and your shoes fail authentication, your Tradeblock Wallet will incur a negative balance. This negative balance will cover service fees, additional shoe fees, and the Tradeblock Secure fee (if you opted in). These fees are charged to your Tradeblock Wallet instead of being deducted from the sale.
How do you prevent your shoes from failing authentication?
- Inspect Your Shoes - Before accepting or creating an offer, bid, or ask, thoroughly inspect your shoes, even if they are brand new and have never been taken out of the box.
- Note Any Issues - Include any possible issues or factory defects in your shoe listing. These notes are referenced during the authentication process and can increase the likelihood of your shoes passing without any issues.
By carefully following these guidelines, you can help increase the chances that your shoes pass through the authentication process smoothly.
